Stephen Martin

Deputy Chief Constable
Stephen Martin joined the Civil Nuclear Constabulary as Deputy Chief Constable on 9 May 2022. He had previously been a police officer in Northern Ireland for nearly 34 years, retiring as the T/Deputy Chief Constable in January 2020 when he was responsible for corporate governance, professional standards, organisational change and performance. Having held three separate ACC portfolios, Stephen was variously responsible for: front line uniform and detective policing; protective services; serious and organised crime; intelligence and specialist operations; as well as a range of other operational and support policy areas. Amongst his interests outside of policing he is the non-executive Chair of the Irish Football Association, and also sits on the Prince’s Trust Northern Ireland advisory committee. Stephen is a Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors and also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Stephen was awarded the QPM in 2013 and the OBE in 2018.
