Dougie has over 30 years’ experience as an economist in the public, private and third sectors. He is currently a member of Aberdeen City Council’s Economic Policy Panel and is also Head of Nature Positive Economy at the RSPB. He has also recently held roles as an Economic Associate with Pro Bono Economics and with Scottish Wildlife Trust. Previously Dougie was the Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of Jersey, serving four different Council of Ministers and advising on all aspects of macro and micro economic policy. Prior to that he spent 12 years in London working as Deputy Chief Economist at the Engineering Employers Federation, International Economist at multi-national Rio Tinto and Senior Economist at the Confederation of British Industry. Dougie graduated in Economics from Aberdeen University and has a Master’s degree from Glasgow University.
