Chief Executive of the GIAA, Head of Government Internal Audit, and Board Member
Harriet is the Chief Executive of the Government Internal Audit Agency, which is the largest delivery agent of internal audit services to central government departments and their Arm’s Length Bodies. She is also Head of the Government Internal Audit Function, in which role she leads the professional support and development of all internal audit services across government. Harriet joined the Civil Service in 2023 following 20 years at PwC: her career experience has been focused on public sector clients and includes leading high profile investigations and the provision of advisory services. Harriet holds a degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Sheffield and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Harriet is married and has two children; she lives in north Hampshire.
