Interim Director of Legal and Accountancy Services
Jane McGarry joined the Charity Commission as a legal adviser in 2009. She became Head of Legal Compliance in 2018 and Assistant Director of Legal Services in 2023. Prior to joining the Commission Jane worked for several different charities, mainly in the advice sector. She set up and managed the Somerset Welfare Rights Unit, managed several Citizens Advice Bureaux in Greater Manchester and worked as a training consultant for the Chartered Institute of Housing. She is currently both a charity trustee and volunteer.
